Hi
I'm new to building servers but i have the knowledge to manage them...AD, DNS, DHCP, Exchange...
I was able to get 2 old server HP Proliant V6 cheap to combine with the HP Proliant V9 that the company bought to create their network.
I've already setup the main DC on a Proliant V6. So far i was thinking to setup on the Proliant V9 2 Hyper-V instance, one as a backup DC and one as Exchange. The last Proliant V6 would be use for other services such Copitrak and other low softwares...
While taking a look at how worked Hyper-V since i've never had to deal with it before. (Eli the computer guy is very usefull on youtube) i was questionning myself.... wouldn't that be better that the Proliant V9 windows server 2012 installation becomes a DC as well and that i then create an Hyper-V instance to host Exchange? since it's 2 different "machine"?
Your thoughs?
